Texas dealer Greg May shared the story of his need to trim costs during the recession. As a result, expense reviews became a permanent agenda item during weekly management meetings. Department heads debated expenses and collaborated to cut them. Expenses dropped 20 percent within the first year of the program. And May's employees don't plan on taking their “eye off the ball” anytime soon.
