Ford's Salute to Dealers

Ford Motor Co. has honored six dealers for their dedication to their communities.

Ford's Salute to Dealers, conducted under the guidance of Edsel Ford II, a member of Ford's board, was established in 2001. This year's honorees are:

• Kittivut Chairat of Ford Chokechai Sukhothai in Sukhothai, Thailand

• Dimas Arnoldo da Silva of Dimas Comercio de Automoveis in Florianopolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil

• Bill Jarrett of Bill Jarrett Ford in Avon Park, Fla.

• Jack Kain of Jack Kain Ford in Versailles, Ky.

• Kevin Meehan of Imperial Ford in Mendon, Mass.

• Gazi Osman Ovali of Ovali Otomotiv in Antakya, Hatay, Turkey

Spirit of Leadership Awards


Joy Libert-Gelb, president of Yonkers Motors in Yonkers, N.Y., was honored with a 2013 Spirit of Leadership Award from the Women's Automotive Association International for her professional accomplishments and contributions to the auto industry.

Dealer Education Awards


Northwood University in Midland, Mich., honors several dealers each year for their contributions to public or private education. This year's recipients of Dealer Education Awards are:

• John Darvish Jr. of DARCARS Lexus in Silver Spring, Md.

• Francois Driessen of Driessen Autogroep in Eindhoven, Netherlands

• Gerald Mullinax of Mullinax Ford in Apopka, Fla.

• Frederick Rentschler of Rentschler Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge-Ram and Rentschler Chevrolet in Slatington, Pa.

• Alexandra Schmid of Autohaus Schmid GmbH in Donzdorf, Germany

• Robert Shuman of Shuman Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram in Walled Lake, Mich.

• Wally Thornhill of Thornhill Automotive Group in Chapmanville, W.Va.

• James Waldron of Jim Waldron Buick-GMC Truck in Davison, Mich.


75 with Chrysler and Dodge
