Klare Sunderland


CAMP HILL, Pa. -- Klare Sunderland, president of Sun Motor Cars Automotive Group, died Jan. 6. He was 78.

He started his career selling cars at Sausman Chevrolet in Steelton, Pa., and eventually bought the dealership, which had moved to Lemoyne, and renamed it Sunderland Chevrolet. Over the years he bought and sold other stores.

At the time of his death, Sunderland was president of Sun Motor Cars Automotive Group (Mercedes-BMW-Porsche-Audi) in Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Orland Park Mercedes-Benz and Orland Park BMW in Orland Park, Ill.

Son Daniel Sunderland, the auto group's vice president, succeeds his father as president.
