Jan. output rises 7%

North American car and truck production in January was up 7 percent from January 2012, with 1,329,381 units built.

Car production rose 14 percent in the United States and 13 percent in Mexico but dropped 18 percent in Canada. North American car production was up 8 percent.

Truck output was up 6 percent in the United States and 28 percent in Mexico but was down 15 percent in Canada. North America was up 5 percent.

Vehicle output rose 9 percent in the United States and 19 percent in Mexico but dropped 17 percent in Canada.
