1st Qoros model to debut in Geneva
SHANGHAI -- Qoros Auto Co., a joint venture between Chery Automobile Co. and Israeli investment company Israel Corp., will show its first production model along with two concepts at the Geneva auto show next month.
The production model, the Qoros GQ3, is a three-box compact sedan. It will go on sale in China late this year. The car also will be sold in Europe later, the company said in a statement.
The two concept cars, the Qoros Cross Hybrid and the Qoros Estate, are built on the same platform as the Qoros GQ3.
The company offered no further details on the three vehicles.
In 2014 it says it plans to launch the GQ3's hatchback and SUV versions.
Former Mini chief designer Gert Hildebrand oversaw the styling of the vehicles.
Qoros, which previously was known as Chery Quantum Auto Co., will build vehi- cles in Changshu in east China's Jiangsu province.
