To the Editor:

With regard to "Top blunders of 2012" ("First Shift," Automotive News TV, Dec. 26):

I would like to give a word of thanks to Kia.

With the bad news concerning the mileage differences, Kia acted proactively with cash returns to our customers.

Other manufacturers have done similar things for their customers. But I think Kia went the extra mile.

I received a certified letter from Kia Motors America President Byung Mo Ahn with an apology for Kia's mistake. Along with the apology, we received a check to assist us in our efforts to assist our customers.

I have been in this business for 30 years and cannot remember a finer gesture from a manufacturer.
