To the Editor: Regarding "A woman's touch is rare in F&I," Dec. 10: I have two finance managers, and both are women. I would not have anyone other than a woman run my finance department. My managers have been with me for more than 13 years, and we have worked through weddings, babies and the like. They are now training another young woman who worked as a teller in a bank. We are training her by having her start with following up on bank packets and handling documentation problems. She also will load deals for delivery and interact with the salespeople as well as produce mailings to customers who have not purchased service contracts at the time of sale. She loves the atmosphere of a car dealership as it compares with a bank. She admits that she never realized she could have a career in a dealership.
