4 execs join World Congress panel on purchasing
DETROIT -- Purchasing executives from Ford, Chrysler Group and two top suppliers will take part in a purchasing panel discussion on Jan. 16, the second day of the 2013 Automotive News World Congress.
Panel members will be:
Birgit Behrendt, executive director of global programs and the Americas purchasing for Ford Motor Co. In that role Behrendt oversees all purchasing activities for Ford's North America and South America operations.
Previously she was vice president of purchasing for Ford of Europe and executive director of Ford's global programs.
Scott Kunselman, senior vice president of purchasing and supplier quality for Chrysler Group, who has held that post since April.
Before that, he was senior vice president of engineering since June 2009. In that position, Kunselman's responsibilities included overseeing systems and component engineering, vehicle line platform programs and international engineering.
Tim Leuliette, CEO of Visteon Corp., who was appointed to that position on Sept. 30 after being named interim chairman and CEO on Aug. 10.
Earlier, Leuliette was CEO of Dura Automotive, leading that company to its recapitalization and sale after it emerged from bankruptcy. He also was co-chairman and co-CEO of Asahi Tec Corp., a Japanese supplier, after that company acquired Metaldyne Corp., which Leuliette co-founded.
Mike Mansuetti, president of Robert Bosch LLC, who was named to that post on July 12.
Mansuetti focuses on cross-divisional business opportunities within Bosch and new business development.
The theme of the 2013 Automotive News World Congress is "Driving Change: Global Uncertainties/Local Opportunities." The event will be held Jan. 15-17 at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center during media preview week at the North American International Auto Show.
