It's long on tease and short on substance, but Chevrolet's campaign to generate buzz for the redesigned 2014 Corvette is well under way.

Chevrolet introduced a 47-second teaser video two weeks ago showing quick glimpses of the car covered in camouflage, work on a clay model and shots of the General Motors wind tunnel.

Corvette exterior designer Kirk Bennion gets a turn in front of the camera: "Performance cars are definitely all about form follows function. But I would say beautiful form follows performance-driven function."

The car will be unveiled on Jan. 13 on the eve of the Detroit auto show. Fans who have trouble waiting can get another fix on Thursday when the next teaser video in the series is to be released.

The Corvette team has said the new version will be powered by a base 6.2-liter V-8 that will crank out at least 450 hp and 450 pounds-feet of torque.

Information about the new Corvette and the videos are being posted on one13thirteen.com.
