Ford Motor Co.'s North American design studios have been busy. They have redesigned the 2013 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ, wowing critics with swooping lines that move the nameplates upscale. Before that, they redesigned Explorer and Mustang.

Moray Callum, executive director of Americas design since 2006, has overseen the design and execution of all those new vehicles. South America is his responsibility, too. Ford's new, small EcoSport crossover was engineered in Brazil for many global markets. That means Callum, a native of Scotland who has worked for Chrysler, Mazda and PSA Peugeot Citroen, has had his hand in the design of vehicles from Ford's small EcoSport to the company's largest, the F-series Super Duty pickup.
