As global head of Chrysler's Mopar parts and service brand, Pietro Gorlier, 50, preaches the importance of weekend service hours to Chrysler Group dealers. Gorlier has gone so far as to stake out the independent competition near a closed dealer on a Saturday to photograph Chrysler Group vehicles driving in for weekend appointments. Dealers are starting to buy the message: 400-plus more Chrysler dealers now offer weekend service than did in 2009, when he launched the effort. Gorlier also has expanded Mopar's aftermarket parts offerings, giving dealers extra ways to grab sales from independent competitors. He also has moved to expand factory-provided parts for other makes, allowing Chrysler dealers to work on competitors' vehicles using Mopar parts.
