Jason Stein, editor of Automotive News, has taken on the additional role of associate publisher.

Stein, 40, has guided the Automotive News newsroom since 2009, when he returned from Munich, Germany, after two years as publisher of Automotive News Europe.

“This is an important step in the continuing evolution of Automotive News,” said Peter Brown, publisher and editorial director. “Stein is a hugely capable publishing executive, and we’re happy we can promote him.”

Stein, a Canadian, joined Automotive News as a reporter in 2003 after 10 years as an editor and reporter for various newspapers and media outlets, including the Fort Wayne (Ind.) Journal Gazette and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

During his tenure, Stein has led the Automotive News editorial team through a reinvention of its editorial operation, incorporating online, print and video efforts into its suite of news offerings.
