Lamborghini unveils topless Aventador
LOS ANGELES -- If Lamborghini makes a coupe, you can be sure a topless version is coming as well. Sure enough, the Italian supercar-maker has revealed a roadster version of its Aventador LP700-4.
And, of course, it's fast: the Aventador Roadster will accelerate from 0-100kph in less than three seconds, with a maximum speed of about 350kph, the automaker claims.
The roadster's two-piece carbon-fiber roof uses patented technologies, with each half of the roof weighing less than 6kg and fitting in the front luggage compartment.
The B-pillar provides support for the removable roof, engages a rollover protection system for occupants and still allows ventilation for the mid-mounted engine.

The powered rear windshield not only influences the flow of air into the vehicle, but also controls how the car's occupants hear the shriek of the 6.5-liter, 700hp V-12 engine. No matter how the rear windshield is aligned, the wind deflector will keep occupants' hairstyles muss-free, Lamborghini says.
Orders can be taken immediately for 2013 deliveries. For those worried about their car budget, the U.S. starting price, before taxes and destination charges, is $381,360 (300,000 euros).
