Toyota plans to export U.S.-made Venzas to South Korea

Toyota sold 35,012 Venzas in the United States through October, a 6 percent gain over the first 10 months of 2011.

LOS ANGELES -- Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. plans to export its Venza crossover to South Korea, the first time the vehicle will be sold outside North America.

Venza exports are forecast to be about 600 units annually, said Bob Carter, Toyota senior vice president of automotive operations.

The Venza, made in Georgetown, Ky., will incrementally add to Toyota's expected North American exports of 130,000 units in 2012, a 52 percent increase from last year.

Toyota sold 35,012 Venzas in the United States through October, a 6 percent gain over the first 10 months of 2011, according to the Automotive News Data Center.
