Gabe Nelson has joined Automotive News as a reporter in the Washington bureau, where he will report on government policy as it affects automakers, suppliers and dealers. He also will cover Volkswagen of America and Audi of America.

Nelson, 25, comes from E&E Publishing in Washington; he had written about environmental and energy policy since 2009. Earlier he worked as a reporting intern at Crain Communications affiliate Crain's Detroit Business and held internships during college at The Blade in Toledo, Ohio, and Express, a daily publication of The Washington Post.

Nelson is a native of Washington and a graduate of the University of Michigan.
