To the Editor:

Regarding "Sporty store is a no-go at GM" (Oct. 22): Who said "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"? Certainly no one who works for General Motors.

It appears from the outside that GM is meddling with the free-enterprise system.

My heartfelt congratulations to Chevrolet dealer Marc Heitz for thinking outside the box -- very successfully, too.

Do GM executives really believe they have a better idea?
