LOS ANGELES -- Acura will discontinue the slow-selling ZDX after the 2013 model year.

The MDX variant was launched in 2009 as Acura's answer to such coupe-crossovers as the BMW X6 and Infiniti FX35. But it never caught on. U.S. sales of the ZDX topped out at 3,259 units in 2010, its first full year on the market. They fell to 1,564 in 2011 and just 642 through the first nine months of 2012.
