The 2012 Automotive News Europe Eurostars distinguished themselves through their ability to beat expectations and their willingness to take risks to make their companies better. The 14 Eurostars were chosen by the editors of Automotive News Europe and were honored at a ceremony in Paris last month sponsored by PwC and Siemens.

Former Skoda sales and marketing leader Juergen Stackmann, left, received a Eurostar for his work growing Volkswagen Group's Czech brand. PwC's global automotive leader Rick Hanna presented the award.

During the ceremony, Automotive News Europe presented an honorary Eurostar to the late Sergio Pininfarina, the great Italian designer who died in July. Autoweek Publisher KC Crain, left, presented the award to Pininfarina's son, Paolo.

Kook-Hyun Shim, left, head of production at Kia's Slovakia plant, was named a manufacturing executive Eurostar. The award was presented by Tony Hemmelgarn, managing director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa for Siemens PLM Software.

Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn collected a Eurostar in the Group CEO category for his work positioning Renault outside Europe.
