Harman to open software center in Chicago

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Harman International Industries says it will open a software center in suburban Chicago to provide engineering for infotainment. The center will design products based on open standards such as Linux and Android. The center also will develop infotainment systems that interact with smartphones, tablets and cloud-based data.
