BEAVERTON, Ore. -- The Car Connectivity Consortium has hired Alan Ewing, a former Nokia manager, as its new executive director. Ewing will oversee MirrorLink, the consortium's technology standard that allows a consumer to access a cell phone with the same controls used for the radio, climate control and navigation.
PASADENA, Calif. -- Calstart, a non-profit organization that promotes green transportation technology, has hired Kevin Beaty as vice president of its high-efficiency truck program. Previously, Beaty managed Eaton Corp.'s hybrid unit for commercial trucks. Beaty will be based in Calstart's Midwest office in Michigan. He replaces Richard Parish, who will remain with Calstart as a part-time employee.
NOVI, Mich. -- Cooper-Standard Holdings Inc. has named Jeffrey Edwards CEO, effective on Oct. 15. He succeeds James McElya, 65, who is retiring. McElya will serve out his term as board chairman. Edwards, 50, previously served as group vice president of Asian operations for Johnson Controls Inc.'s seating and interiors unit. Cooper-Standard, which is based in Novi, Mich., produces body sealants, fluid handling components and anti-vibration products.
