33 innovations are PACE finalists
Thirty-three innovations, in such diverse areas as turbochargers, short-range radar and infotainment, are vying as finalists for the 2013 Automotive News PACE Awards.
The 19th annual awards honor auto suppliers' innovations in products, manufacturing processes and information technology.
PACE stands for Premier Automotive Suppliers' Contribution to Excellence.
The finalists will host teams of judges who are industry, academic and business leaders.
The judges will evaluate each innovation for novelty, market impact and competitiveness.
Winners will be announced April 15 at the Max M. Fisher Music Center in Detroit, kicking off SAE World Congress week.
Information on the finalists' innovations will be featured in issues of Automotive News next spring.
The awards are sponsored by Ernst & Young, the Transportation Research Center Inc. and Automotive News.
SAE International and the Original Equipment Suppliers Association provide further support.
Here are the finalists' innovations, by category.
