Imagine that: 'Reimagined' re-emerges
Lincoln is preparing to launch a hugely important marketing campaign tied to the redesigned 2013 Lincoln MKZ. The campaign's theme, as currently conceived, is "Reimagined," according to an Aug. 28 document outlining the plan.
Raise your hand if you think you might have heard the word "reimagined" in other car commercials recently.
Here's an excerpt from a Nissan spot, in which the narrator extols the virtues of the 2013 Altima: "Wouldn't it be cool if someone took mid-sized sedans and broke the mold? We took our best-selling Altima back to its essence and reimagined it completely."
But Nissan is not alone.
Toyota, eager not to be excluded from the club, asks customers on its Web site to meet, you guessed it, "The Reimagined 2013 Avalon."
And Chevrolet kicks off one of its commercials for the 2013 Malibu with this line: "Introducing the all-new, completely reimagined Malibu ... ."
