Lincoln dealers need better cars

To the Editor:
Regarding "Lincoln: No holdback, more cash (maybe)," Sept. 24: I'm not sure. Should I laugh or cry?
Five Lincoln leads a month vs. 200-plus Ford leads. Five Lincoln certified-pre-owned sales vs. 25 Ford CPO sales.
Changing holdback will not matter either way.
What I find amusing is: Where are we going to get the cars to certify? The Ford Edge outsells the Lincoln brand.
Most Lincoln customers need a better experience -- I agree with that -- but they also need a better car.
I'm glad Lincoln wants to make changes, but it should start by putting its employees in Lincolns. It seems like Mark Fields could make that happen.
I doubt dual dealers will embrace this. As my dad always said, not enough candy for a nickel.
Where are our seven new cars?
