Bridgestone Corp. has acquired a 281-acre farm in Eloy, Ariz., to supply guayule, a shrub that’s a source of natural rubber, for a nearby research center that Bridgestone will build in Mesa. The company hopes to grow guayule as a commercial crop. The Mesa center in will employ 32 researchers. Construction is scheduled for early next year, and the center is expected to launch trial rubber production in 2015.
