Two years ago, says The Washington Post, the environmentally conscious Pope Benedict hinted that an electric car would be a nice complement to the solar panels he had installed on some Vatican roofs. Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn obliged last week, presenting before picture-snapping popearazzi a modified Renault Kangoo van with a special papal paint job (white, of course, with the papal coat of arms), 44-kilowatt motor and lithium ion battery pack.
