NORCROSS, Ga. -- Starting this month, dealers who sell Motor Trend Certified used vehicles are required to obtain Carfax used-vehicle reports as part of the vehicle-certification process, says Larry Dorfman, CEO of Automobile Protection Corp., whose EasyCare division administers the certified program.

To be considered for certification, vehicles must have fewer than 80,000 miles and be no more than 8 model years old.

Consumers shopping for a Motor Trend Certified vehicle will receive a free copy of the report.
