Faurecia opens interior parts plant in Michigan

DETROIT -- Faurecia SA has opened a plant in suburban Detroit to produce a variety of interior parts for the Cadillac ATS. The 160,000-square-foot facility also makes parts used in instrument panels and center consoles for the Ford Focus, plus other interior parts for General Motors and Chrysler Group. The plant employs 106 hourly and salaried workers.

Faurecia, of Nanterre, France, ranks No. 6 on the Automotive News list of the top 100 global suppliers with worldwide parts sales to automakers of $22.5 billion in 2011.
