BorgWarner to expand Mississippi plant

BorgWarner Inc. plans to expand its factory in Water Valley, Miss., to produce stop-start components for automatic transmissions, the IHS Supplier Business newsletter reports. The plant, which employs 485 workers, will add 50 jobs to produce the components.

BorgWarner, of suburban Detroit, ranks No. 27 on the Automotive News list of the top 100 global suppliers with worldwide parts sales to automakers of $7.12 billion in 2011.
