Brose N.A. promotes COO Dunn to president
DETROIT -- John Dunn, COO of Brose North America Inc., has been named president of the North American company, Brose said today.
The move was effective Aug. 1. Dunn, 45, will report to Brose Group CEO Jurgen Otto.
Brose, which is privately held, specializes in producing window regulators, door systems and seat adjusters.
Dunn, who was responsible for regional production, takes over the post from Jan Kowal, who will become chairman of Brose North America.
Kowal led Brose’s North American expansion. Since taking control of North American operations in 1999, Kowal increased sales from $90 million to more than $1 billion, Brose said. The supplier has eight locations and more than 4,000 employees in the region.
Brose North America, of suburban Detroit, ranks No. 51 on the Automotive News list of the top 100 suppliers to North America with $954 million in parts sales to automakers in North America in 2011.
Brose Fahrzeugteile GmbH, of Coburg, Germany, ranks No. 37 on the Automotive News list of the top 100 global suppliers with worldwide parts sales to automakers of $5.61 billion in 2011.
