Last month Automotive News announced the inaugural list of the 100 Best Dealerships to Work For.

On Oct. 17 in Chicago, Automotive News will celebrate those 100 U.S. dealerships by revealing the overall rankings and hosting the retail industry's leaders in an afternoon program.

The half-day program, "Pursuit of Excellence -- Attracting and Developing the Best," will include speakers from leading dealerships and experts in the field of employee and customer satisfaction.

The opening speaker, AutoNation COO Michael Maroone, will discuss the importance of employee satisfaction and lessons learned at the large dealership level.

The afternoon panel sessions will focus on training and retention as well as methods to improve employee satisfaction.

Beau Boeckmann of Galpin Ford just outside Los Angeles will conclude the educational session with a speech on preparing a dealership staff for a new generation of car shoppers.

The event will culminate in an awards celebration at which the dealership rankings will be revealed. For more information, or to register, go to autonews.com/ bestdealerships.
