LOS ANGELES -- Mazda Motor Corp. is teasing the production 2014 Mazda6 with videos on YouTube showing glimpses of the redesigned sedan's grille, headlamps and front fenders.
The first video is a darkly lighted close-up of the Mazda6's new hexagonal, open-mouth grille that will be the face of Mazda's redesigned vehicles for the next few years. It also offers a glimpse of the headlight design.
The second video is similar in style and shows the arching silhouette of the front fender's creased sheet metal that flows down toward the beltline before fading into the door panel. Mazda says three more such teaser videos will be posted on YouTube by July 25.

The shots are close-range, panning shots of still images. It's unclear whether actual photographs of the car or renderings were used. A Mazda spokesman was unavailable for comment.
But judging by these, Mazda seems to have succeeded in transferring much of the design details of its Takeri concept car shown in April at the New York auto show into production.
Mazda will unveil the production 2014 Mazda6 at the Paris auto show in September. U.S. sales will begin in early 2013.
