ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- Linamar Corp., a producer of engine and transmission components, will expand its factory in Asheville, N.C. The plant, which opened in 2011, produces engine blocks and axle components for commercial trucks. The company will spend $75 million on the expansion and will hire 250 new employees over the next five years.
Linamar, of Guelph, Ontario, ranks No. 76 on the Automotive News list of the top 100 global suppliers with worldwide parts sales to automakers of $2.1 billion in 2011.
