The National Automobile Dealers Association's board of directors has nominated Forrest McConnell III to be NADA's 2013 vice chairman while, as expected, it nominated David Westcott to be the group's chairman in 2013.

Traditionally, the NADA's vice chairman is elected chairman for the following year, so McConnell now is positioned to become chairman in 2014.

McConnell is president of McConnell Honda and Acura in Montgomery, Ala. He is the 2012 chairman of NADA's industry relations committee.

NADA's board will hold elections at its fall meeting in October, but since Westcott and McConnell are unopposed, their election is little more than a formality.

The board also will elect a secretary and treasurer in October.

Nominated for secretary are Jeff Carlson, a Ford-Lincoln and Subaru dealer in Glenwood Springs, Colo., and Gary Reynolds, a Subaru dealer in Lyme, Conn.

NADA's only nominee for treasurer is George Nahas, a Chevrolet dealer in Wildwood, Fla. Nahas is NADA's current treasurer.
