Mitsubishi: 25% sales gain by '14

The president of Mitsubishi Motor Sales North America says the company is on target to introduce its first plug-in hybrid SUV in 2013, but said the name isn't cetain.

"We haven't decided to call it an Outlander or something else," Yoichi Yokozawa, said after the Mitsubishi make meeting Sunday. "We've shown a concept vehicle at several motor shows. It's not secret, except for the name part."

Mitsubishi discontinued three models last year -- the Eclipse, Spyder and Endeavor -- and the Galant dies this year. But Yokozawa reiterated to dealers the company's commitment to increase sales by about 25 percent, to 100,000 units, by 2014.
