Knott, 51, is reviving Chrysler's partnership approach with suppliers, which had gone underground during its two previous owners, DaimlerChrysler AG and Cerberus Capital Management, and the 2009 bankruptcy. For instance, Knott refuses to change suppliers for trivial savings to Chrysler. He also uses videos to train his staff to stop passing the buck, pays suppliers in a more timely manner and meets regularly with supplier executives.
