Purchasing execs Knott, Vest will speak at congress

DETROIT -- Dan Knott, senior vice president of purchasing and supplier quality at Chrysler Group, and Rebecca Vest, vice president of purchasing for the Renault-Nissan Purchasing Organization, will be speakers at the 2012 Automotive News World Congress.

They will be part of a supplier relations symposium called "Purchasing: Innovation, Technology and Collaboration," to be held Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 11.

Rebecca Vest: Joined Nissan from Toyota

Vest, who oversees Nissan's purchasing activities for manufacturing operations in the United States and Mexico, joined the automaker in 2009 after 22 years with Toyota.

Knott, who joined the old Chrysler Corp. in 1988 as a senior engineer, was named to his current position in December 2009. He is responsible for purchasing and supplier quality for both product-related components and indirect suppliers and services.

The theme of the 2012 Automotive News World Congress is "Revived and Remodeled: The Path to Global Growth." The event will be held Jan. 10-12 at the Marriott hotel in the Renaissance Center in downtown Detroit.
