FRANKFURT -- Fisker's third car based on the Karma's underpinnings, the Sunset, will arrive in 2013, company CEO Henrik Fisker confirmed today at the Frankfurt auto show.
The eye-catching convertible was revealed at the Detroit auto show in 2009 and has been largely overshadowed by Fisker's ambitious product goals.
The company also unveiled the Surf, a five-door wagon, at Frankfurt. It's based on Karma underpinnings and uses the same powertrain. Pricing wasn't announced, but it is expected to cost more than the sedan variant. Henrik Fisker said sales will be about 2,500 annually.
The Sunset, meanwhile, will serve as a halo car of Fisker's lineup. The company also recently acquired General Motors' former factory in Delaware, where Fisker will build a more affordable family sedan. It's dubbed Project Nina.
