Frankfurt is all about long distances. Driving from Hall 1 to Hall 11 requires lots of planning, comfortable shoes and perhaps an overnight bag. But Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Citroen and Opel used the long distances as an opportunity to shuttle media types -- without using a drop a fuel.

The highlights -- Citroen showcased its DS5 Hybrid 4; VW its Golf blue e-motion; and Mercedes its E-Cell fuel cell hybrid.
