TD Auto leasing again? Could be a sign

TD Auto Finance has a return to leasing on its radar, CEO Tom Gilman says.

"We're studying that right now," Gilman said in a phone interview last week. "We'll probably have a decision in the next 60 days. One of the things we want to do is to be a full-service provider for our dealers, and that's one of the things we need to do to be a full-service provider."

TD Auto Finance is the former Chrysler Financial. Chrysler Financial abruptly quit leasing in July 2008, one of the first big distress signals in auto lending at the time.

If TD Auto Finance gets back into leasing, it could be a sign that some things are getting back to normal.
