CATHERINE DUNWOODY
|
Executive director, California Fuel Cell Partnership
Chosen because: Dunwoody, 48, was a crucial player in forming the government-automotive-utility partnership, recognized as a leader in promoting commercial development of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. The partnership is working to build a hydrogen fueling system in the Los Angeles area to enable the launch of fuel-cell powered EVs for retail sale by several automakers in 2015. Prior to her involvement in the California Fuel Cell Partnership, Dunwoody was a member of the California Air Resources Board for 14 years. Dunwoody has a bachelor of science in biochemistry from the University of California, Davis.
Quote: "Automakers can't sell vehicles without fuel being available. Fuel retailers can't sell fuel without regulations in place. Government can't set regulations without having vehicles and fuel dispensers to test," Dunwoody told EnergyBoom. "Working as a partnership, we bring all the puzzle pieces to the table so the process will move faster."
