Chosen because: Arfi, 41, heads SPX's effort to get into the EV-charger business -- and the company has snagged a big client. SPX was chosen as General Motors' preferred provider and installer for 240-volt (Level 2) home charging units. Arfi has said that SPX plans to have a 480-volt (Level 3) fast-charger on the market by year end. Innovation and scale will lower the price of fast chargers, which some see as a key link in overcoming EV range limitations, Arfi says.
