Another Mini variant... this one has some novelties

GENEVA -- When I heard that Mini would show a concept called the Rocketman here... I'll admit it, I groaned.

I mean, how many more variants can they milk out of one (admittedly sweet) little car?

But there are a couple of novel features that make the Rocketman worth looking at, based on first glance after its unveiling this morning. There's the pullout rear end, displayed carrying that favored signifier of youthful sportiness, a snowboard.

And the folding doors are a clever solution to parking in tight quarters.

So OK, Mini, I'll give you this one. But what's next? The Working Man? The Organization Man? The Walk Man?

Ah, of course! The Best Man.
