Ford's Mark Fields on delivering 'bad news' to Mulally

When Alan Mulally became Ford's CEO in 2006, he instituted weekly meetings to review the automaker's business. Executives provided status reports following a uniform color chart -- in short, 'green' meant good and 'red' meant bad. In the following excerpt from the Automotive News World Congress, Mark Fields recalls being the first leader to present a red chart to the new CEO.
