Focus gets it A L M O S T right

So much has been written about the Ford Focus already that I leave you with one comment: The panel gap in the hood cut around the Ford oval logo is HUGE.

Why, after all these years of trying to convince Americans that Detroit can build quality cars, does Ford include a design cue that subconsciously reminds them of the bad old days? It may be the one design element of the car that isn't good.

I'm sure there's a practical reason for that opening, likely having to do with better intake breathing for the EcoBoost engine, but I'll still lay odds on an earlier-than-expected front fascia freshening.
