Why did you want to work in the auto industry? I was around a lot of union guys at my father's bar in Detroit. They always encouraged me.

First automotive job: I worked on the UAW drive to organize the now-defunct Mexican Industries parts operations in Detroit in 1995.

Proudest professional achievement: Helping workers get a seat at the table in determining their futures.

Current challenge at work: Organizing a large number of parts suppliers in the American South that operate in an unfair labor environment.

What you do to relax: Play with my children.
