Jully BURAU

Why did you want to work in the auto industry? I've always been hands-on, fixing things. I'm pretty mechanically inclined.

First automotive job: Crash test engineer at Buick in Flint in 1980.

Proudest professional achievement: Vehicle chief engineer for the latest generation of GM pickups, launched in 2007. The Chevrolet Silverado pickup was voted Motor Trend Truck of the Year in 2007.

Current challenge at work: The competition isn't resting in the truck segment.

What you do to relax: Walk, read, boat and spend time with my husband and two college-age kids.
