New Mustang has it all … almost

After driving the V-6-powered 2011 Mustang, all I can say is, "What a car!"

Excellent road manners, outstanding brakes, plus Ford's new 3.7-liter engine is a head-snapper: 305 hp, 280 pounds-feet of torque.

Did I mention 0 to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds from a six-banger? That's according to one of the buff books. That's V-8 territory. Oh, and here's the kicker: about 31 mpg on the highway. Sticker price will be around $31,000.

The only thing missing is a four-door with a rear seat for adults. Something for us grown-ups.

Porsche has a four-door. So does Maserati. Both are attracting new buyers.

So should Ford think a little outside the box and stretch the cabin a bit? Let me know what you think.
