From aircraft to trucks to cars -- key events in Saab's history


There's a lot missing between 1949 and 1969, the period when Saab was probably at its best. They had 100+ major competition wins in Europe and North America in the 50's and 60's, including most of the major rallies of the period.

GM never understood, probably never bothered to understand, what had turned people into Saab enthusiasts and made them buy one Saab after another. The design changes made by GM ignored the marque's history and traditions and the result was inevitable.
