How Chrysler, Fiat design team splits the world

Unfortunately, Daimler-Benz left Chrysler with some mediocre mid-sized cars with the Avenger and Sebring. I often wondered why they couldn't have used the C-class platform and reduced the cost simply by taking out a lot of the luxury features to make it more Camry/Accord-like but still have solid underpinnings.

Also, Daimler really screwed up by replacing the Neon with the ugly, IMO, Dodge Caliber. If that car had received some decent styling and a sedan counterpart to go with it, then they would've been able to achieve some decent volume. At least they had the Jeep versions to get some sales. The really sad part is that all of these cars have decent quality, but I think the styling put a lot of buyers off. So much for German design.
