I work for a Teir 2 supplier. Our workforce has been cut by 2/3 and all employees, hourly & salary have been laidoff 1 week a month every month since Janary. Last Friday it was accounced that we will be laid off 2 weeeks in May and more to come throughout the summer. Any money that is being saved by my company thru payroll is being partially replaced by unemployment. If my company was not protecting ourselves thru Bankrupcy Ins

on all of our customers and mandatory layoffs, the doors would have already closed. Nine weeks is a very long time. I'm unsure my company will make it thru the summer. If the company does make it, it will be very difficult to build without a strong workforce, more experienced employees have all been permantly laid off. The only positve aspect of this economy is that the younger employees, late 20s like myself, have been plunged into many acpects of the company. I currently am part of purchasing, production, quality, shipping /receiving and inventory management. I havn't seen a title lately that doesn'y have a slash in it, many people are wearing many hats.

Hold on, the summer is going to be a very bumpy ride.
